"A belated review... My fiancé surprised me with something different for my birthday just into the start of a tough week....

(He is not usually a fan of Eastern Cuisine so in the interests of domestic peace we don't partake all that often.)

The thought of a bossy 'have you got a booking'; or loud music blasting from every corner; or tiny expensive portions; or overpriced wine; or minute unventilated restrooms; had me mumbling about a quiet night in with a toasted cheese and Netflix. I'm glad I did not get my way.

Other reviews here have covered the extensive menu; and wonderful flavours. I just want to say that good food, excellent service, fair pricing, huge portions, spotlessly clean dining & restroom areas & old school music at the correct volume were a welcome relief to this jaded Joburg dining fan.

The owner & chef stopping by at our table was an unexpected extra; and the 'sea view' next to the large fish-tank was fun.

" My overall experience was really really fantastic. We had a really good time, such a relaxing atmosphere. All the staff, from the reception to the waiters, were all really friendly and accommodating. Efficient service and so welcoming. The food was divine to say the least and so well presented with execellent value for money. The complimentary neck and head massage was fantastic and left us feeling great. Well done on the décor and making us feel at home, this dining experience is a must for anyone. It is a well managed restaurant and I would definitely recommend friends and family. The new decor is great with an 'upmarket' feel to it and the menu is huge !

AT FUSIONISTA RANDBURG

Everything was awesome from starters to dessert. The service was exceptional as was the attention to detail on every course. Sat near the fish tank. Which is still our favorite place to entertain our son. The owner is attentive and friendly. Can't wait to be back to try all the other menu options. We will be back a few times.

Was pleasantly surprised this evening by Fusionista on Rabie Street, Randburg. Sushi is the best I've had since Thailand (where I thought sushi back home would be ruined for me) crispy pork is amazing. And the Phillipino dishes are absolutely heavenly. 45 page menu with the best of the best from far east Asian food. And a cocktail menu to match. However, this is not the place you come to for a quick bite to eat. I recommend it to those who want to sit and chat the night away over a bottle of wine between courses. Waitress was attentive and friendly. They have buttons to call the Waitress when you need something and she'll be there in seconds. Manager was friendly, fun and warm. Chef came out to make sure we were happy with the food and had a nice long chat with us. Was an amazing experience. I just hope that the big venue and even bigger menu doesn't fail them as it is such an amazing vibe. 
Price - decent for a decadent night out. 
Ambience - stunning. Down to the blue lights to make the neon green menus shine. 
Portions - very very generous. 
Chilli lovers will love this place as they bring out a lazy Susan filled with goodies to spice up your dish.

"Fusionista has an authentic feel to it, with an amazing interior space that will make you feel at ease the entire time from the time we entered, we were welcomed and treated with a foot cleanse and then taken to our room. Our therapist was outstanding. My partner and I enjoyed the 60min treatment. Then had a Delicious traditional thai style food. My overall experience has been relaxing. I will definitely be coming back for another treatment soon."

 "We have lived close by to this area (Fountainbleau) for many years and it has always been, for us, just ordinary. But with this gem of a restaurant, it could put this suburb on the map. The Asian food they serve is absolutely divine! I had Thai chicken curry and my partner sweet and sour kingklip. They prepare the food fresh so there is a wait but it is worth it. Also those who know my reviews I have an allergy to MSGs, which often precludes me from eating at Asian restaurants in the West. I phoned first to inquire and was told that there are some dishes that contain MSGs but as they are prepare from scratch they can easily be left out. For me this is a dream come true - authentic Asian cooking and no MSGs twenty minutes from home. The decor is pure fusion and takes a bit of getting used to - with this purpley-blue lighting and quite a clash of colours in places - but it works - the ambience is wonderful - ideal for a romantic dinner! There is a spa adjacent to the restaurant, which we did not try out but looked in keeping with the whole fusion look. Our waiter was very slow bring the drinks and later the bill, but maybe he was having a bad evening - so we are not going to let this put us off going there again. We could become regulars with food this good!!"

 "After the couples massage at fusionista spa we were looking forward to our Asian dinner and we weren't disappointed. Fusionista offers something a bit out of the ordinary from darth Vader cocktails to a super extensive menu to aquarium view tables to qwerky waiters. I had sushi for starters and red chicken curry for Mains and both were delicious. My wife had beef curry which she enjoyed. Our waiter was unintentionally very entertaining but very apologetic for it, maybe it was his 1st day but he did surprisingly get our order perfect. We will certainly be back"

Relaxing as that it's supposed to be and exciting because I had my treatment in the Koi Mist treatment room where I enjoyed my massage on a floating glass island with Koi fish swimming underneath me ! This was surely one of a kind massages that I ever experienced with one of the friendliest therapists ever! Fusionista Beauty and Spa is definately a first class beauty spa with exquisite decor! I never felt more special!"

We were offered complimentary neck and shoulder massages and told about the specials in the spa - great advertising! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Asian food.  "We had a lovely dinner on Saturday and I literally loved everything about this place: the ambiance, the décor, the service, the fish tanks, the fire places and above all the food. We ventured into unknown territory and deliberately chose dishes that we had never had before. So instead of the usual Thai curry, it was Cambodian meat balls. spinach leaves from Laos, beef from Malaysia etc. All truly delicious and exotic. Will definitely be back and combine it with a spa experience. Well done to the team."

 "Amazing - I felt like I was entering another world when I walked into the spa. I've been to many spas around the world and this spa has a totally unique look and feel. There are a number of differently themed rooms. I chose the quartz crystal room which is filled with different types of Himalayan rock crystals which purify the air. The massage started with a soothing foot wash - nice touch. I was then led to the massage room which has its own bathroom and shower which is great for people who want privacy. I had the hot stone massage accompanied by tranquil music - incredibly relaxing - I didn't want it to end. Afterwards one gets served a complimentary drink with a small chocolate as one chills out in a quiet reception area. I chose the Lemon Grass Tea. which was the perfect finishing touch. Pricing is very reasonable.This spa qualifies as a world class destination spa. I will be back - many times!"

 "I have had two delightful meals at Fusionista. The waiters were attentive and catered to all needs. My first occasion I had the seared salmon which was cooked to perfection and it was delicious. I then took my family on the second occasion where we ordered a few different dishes including staters which were shared among us. The food was excellent and we were impressed with the variety offered. I also had some of the salmon sushi which was fresh and mouth watering delicious. A seat next to the fish tank is my favourite place to eat and creates a lovely ambiance. There are many choices on the menu so there is no difficulty finding a dish that your palate will enjoy. I must say always excellent service and high quality food, excellent restaurant all round with much effort put into the decor. Try Fusionista you won't be disappointed and the prices are most reasonable."

 "My wife and I went for the couples special which was an hours massage followed by dinner. Emmy attended to my wife and I don't recall my lady's name other than her husband is the chef at the restaurant. I'm not usually a fan of Thai massage but this was super relaxing. I also knew that if I was enjoying it then my wife was REALLY enjoying it. The ambiance adds to the relaxing experience. We will certainly be back"

 "This is not my first review, but like any good destination it is worth revisiting. The first time at Fusionista we were wow-ed by the quality of the food and the ambience of the restaurant – pure and indulgent escapism at its best. 
Now we have been a second time and the experience was even better in the Spa. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff, offered drinks and then taken through for a foot scrub before our treatments. We were then lead into the most exceptional room – the first thing I noticed was that there was no roof (outside experience with privacy). We then walked over a glass bridge into an air-conditioned room made out of glass with a glass floor. As I looked down I saw Koi swimming though the floor in a massive under foot koi pond. The walls are done with rose quartz and water cascades down over the pink stones into a fire pit making steam. While were both given the most exquisite hot stone massage we were watching the koi, which was incredibly relaxing, so much so that I fell asleep. I have never seen anything like this amazing venue, in person, on TV or even online. Well done Fusionista, we will be back, and soon."

"Having searched for great sushi places in Jo'burg, I think I'm pretty hard to please. But finally I found my match. I dined here on July 27th as a birthday celebration and I was thoroughly impressed with my choice. From the friendly smile I got from the parking guy to the ambience walking into the restaurant I must say, I was looking forward to a fantastic night. 
We were greeted timeously by Ayanda within a few seconds of our arrival. He then led us into the dining room where we could choose to sit in the big dining room or in the private dining room which offered a more intimate dining experience. Of course since I was with my boyfriend we went for the latter option. We were presented with clean menus, each one introduced, to tell us what we would find in it. We ordered warm sake, I'm not a fan but I took one for the team. And having had worked at a Japanese restaurant before, it was great. I loved that they had a device where you could call for the waiter, we didn't need it because Bruce, Ayanda(Bruce's protégé), and I'm assuming the Supervisor, were so attentive.
We ordered Vietnamese spring rolls to start with, those came with a delicious peanut butter sauce and a sweet chilli sauce. We then ordered The tuna dragon roll, eel roll, and salmon maki. 
NO REGRETS.
Everything was beautifully presented, and tasted great. We finished the night off with Ayanda's recommendation of the chocolate cigar. Pretty amazing as well.
By the end of the meal we were pretty stuffed and well pleased with our choice to go there from Soweto. Service was amazing, food was amazing, the experience was amazing.
